The Department of Aerospace Engineering has a prime responsibility to produce engineers capable of designing, manufacturing, servicing and maintaining aircrafts and related  equipment. This is a challenging task due to the vast scope of machinery being developed and used by humankind (from design, manufacturing, and maintenance of complex machines such as interplanetary rockets to simple household kitchen appliances such as the can opener). The training needs to be thorough and focused. Our immediate national needs are not to build rockets and missile launchers but to create aircrafts and other equipment that can increase productivity of our people in various fields of endeavour.
