Becoming A Member

Alumni MembershipThe membership of the KNUST Alumni Association is open to the following categories of persons:

Full membership

a.) All members who hold certificates from the days of the:

  • Kumasi College of Technology (1951 - 1960);
  • Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, (1961 - 1966);
  • University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, (1966 - 1999) and again, the
  • Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, (2000 to date)

b.) Persons who were matriculated into the University but who, for some reasons
(other than withdrawal or dismissal), could not complete their academic programmes in this University.

Associate Membership

Associate membership is open to:

  • all employees of the University (past and present) who wish to express their association or romantic attachment to the University in a special way.
  • All spouses of employees (past and present) who wish to express their association or romantic attachment to the University in a special way.
  • All spouses of employees (past and present)
  • Friends of alumni
  • All corporate bodies, organisations which employ the services of KNUST alumni.
  • All benefactors of the KNUST.
  • All relatives and friends of alumni and / or any corporate body or individual who bears some goodwill for the University.

Half Term Report on the Stewardship of Professor William Otoo Ellis, Vice-Chancellor of KNUST

On the 1st of October, 2010, Professor William Otoo Ellis was appointed as Vice Chancellor for a four year term to steer the affairs of this great institution by the Council of this University. He was inducted into office on the 2nd of October, 2010 and swore the oath of service and was formally outdoored to the University Community and to the rest of the general public.
